Shola Monica

Hello there!

My name is Shola. I am an animator, storyboard artist and illustrator who enjoys anything that involves creating characters and expresses unique ways of storytelling. My passion in life has always been art and I'm eager to share it with others! I am a reliable and diligent worker, always determined to meet a deadline. I would describe myself as a very organised individual; who is polite and honest, with excellent listening and problem-solving skills. I have a strong work ethic and won't back down from a challenge, working well both as an individual and with others in a team.

I aim to pursue a career in which I have the opportunity to collaborate with other hard working and creative individuals. I hope to offer my extensive knowledge in 2D animation design while also learning new experiences and techniques from my peer's advice.

2D Animator and Storyboard Artist

While I am not working on studio projects, I am a freelance 2D Animator and Storyboard artist. I've designed one 60-second storyboard animatic and one 15-second animatic that advertised products sold by the company BimiBoo - a studio that designs children's learning apps.

I've also worked with an animator named Christopher Fequiere in creating animated illustrations for three of his published books. As well as that, I was given the title of storyboard illustrator and helped design two storyboards for his animated informational videos that tackle general social topics.

2D Clean-up Animator

Responsible for cleaning the linework and creating some in-betweens for the animation. Showed excellent time management skills in my workflow, met my required quota of work for each week and adjusted expeditiously in providing the same high-quality work as my colleagues.

Working remotely from home has meant I've had to be persistent when sharing updates with my supervisor. I made certain to always be attentive during working hours (9 am - 5 pm weekdays) and confirm my availability for meetings and discussions.

2D Animator and Director

I was commissioned to create a 2D Animation short film in collaboration with the Nenagh Arts Children's Film Festival over the course of a 5 month period. It was my responsabilty to create the story's characters, environments, storyboard visuals and make sure that on a regualr basis I consulted with the clients to understand project limitations and desires.

Junior Animator

As a part my degree course, I had the opportunity to take part in a post-graduate short film while on my 3rd-year work placement. 'Click' was made in association with the Aiseiri Addiction Treatment Center, Co.Tipperary, Cahir, as a means to promote awareness for addication.

I was able to discovered new skills for my independence and work ethic. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions our work schedule were almost entirely self-governed in a remote working enviroment and I adapted quite naturally to this working style.
